John Nixon and his parentsJohn has lived in the Lima area his entire life. He was born in Lima when his parents resided on Main Street, and spent many years in the Boy Scouts, achieving their highest honor - Eagle Scout.  John's family later moved a few miles and he graduated from Bath High School.  He furthered his education with a degree from Lima's own Northwestern Business College (currently University of Northwestern Ohio). 

He has been married for over 26 years to Melanie, and they have a son, Josh, and 2 daughters, Tory and Tracy. All are Lima Senior High graduates and enrolled or graduated from college.

John has been employed with Nickles Bakery for over 26 years. He has been a Regional Sales Manager for the past 4 years covering most of Northwest and West Central Ohio.

John served on Lima City Council in the 1st Ward from 1990 to mid 1994. He and his family moved to the 2nd Ward where he was elected and has served as the 2nd Ward Councilor since 1996. He has served on or chaired the Finance Committee the entire time that he has been involved with the Lima City Council.
