Nixon Has Shown Leadership and Committment

Change can be a good thing. The most difficult task of change, however, is being able to foresee the positives or the negatives, whatever that change may be. In certain situations, things are working just as they should, thus change is not needed.  And so it goes with the position of Lima City Council president.  I have been watching John Nixon since his early days as a member of Lima City Council.  Nixon has shown his commitment to this city repeatedly.  His leadership skills are evident both in his roles as the city’s Finance Committee chairman and current City Council president.

Nixon has been presented with many opportunities of late to play the political cards that present themselves in most contested races. Instead, Nixon has chosen to remain silent.  These are the traits of a man with a great regard for both ethics and respect, traits we should all be looking for in any candidate seeking office.

Nixon has flawlessly stepped into the position of City Council president showing not only his leadership capabilities but also his knowledge and ability to follow council’s rules and procedures. This should not be regarded as an easy task to fulfill, but quite the contrary.

I have also had the opportunity to speak directly with Nixon on a variety of topics. His vision was clear. I have taken the time to weigh the positives and the negatives of change in our City Council president. It is for the aforementioned reasons and many others that I wholeheartedly support Nixon for Lima City Council president.
